Domaine Faiveley
Founded in 1825, the Domaine Faiveley winery, located in the heart of Burgundy, has been handed down from father to son until the seventh generation led by Erwin Faiveley. The maison is now the company’s largest and most important in the entire region, with acres of vineyards, which are expanding in all of the best Crus, from the historic center of Nuits-Saint-Georges, up to the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet, Mercurey, and others, with the aim of producing the best wines of Burgundy. To give an example of the quality of the land owned by the company Faiveley it is enough to consider the 10 hectares of Grand Crus, the 25 of Premier Crus and the 3 sublime monopolies, terroir owned in its entirety by the family, which respond to the famous names: Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts, Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l Ecu and Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru. The cru, small, fragmented, make it possible to only a limited production, but everything instead represent an obstacle has been turned into a strength by Faiveley, who have obtained the low yield a higher quality of the grapes and the fragmentary nature a greater diversity of production, allowing them to reach slices of increasingly large market. The winery Domaine Faiveley has throughout its history always devoted great attention to work in the vineyard, taken care of in every period of the year from winter to harvest, to ensure the ideal ripening of each bunch of grapes. The experience and know-how of the Faiveley have allowed to reconcile the Burgundian tradition with technological innovations, always taken with respect for the environment, with the aim of improving year after year the already extraordinary level of quality.
