Description

Calvet

Calvet winery was founded by Jean-Marie Calvet in Bordeaux in 1818. In 1823, a new representative office of the company was set up in the heart of Bordeaux. A few years later, Calvet affiliates were established in the best wine regions of France.

Jean-Marie’s son Octave Calvet took up his father’s initiative. Later, Jean Calvet, one of Octave’s sons, settled down in Burgundy, which emphasized the company’s commitment to producing high-quality wines from grapes grown on the best vineyards of the country. In the early 20th century, he was the originator of the Calvet seal, which became a signature quality attribute of the company’s products in the global market.

Jean Calvet has always been serious about the process of creating wine, so starting from 1930, he was funding the work of a special oenological lab doing research studies in the winemaking industry. Ever since all the company’s plants undergo a multi-stage quality control procedure.

Since 2007, Calvet belongs to the largest French winery group Les Grands Chais de France and aims to become the number one brand among Bordeaux wines worldwide.

Nowadays, the company produces over 40 types of wine distributed in 100 countries around the world.
