The nose expresses intense blackberry notes and a multitude of black fruits. The palate is delicious with black fruit notes still very much present. Violet and undergrowth notes appear mid-palate, complemented by pretty, juicy tannins. The finish is spicy, with a touch of black olive.

Description

Famille Guibert

Famille Guibert is the family behind the renowned Mas de Daumas Gassac, one of the most distinctive wine estates in France's Languedoc region. The story began in the early 1970s, when Aimé and Véronique Guibert discovered an old farmhouse and mill in the Gassac Valley near Aniane. Though they were not originally winemakers, they recognized the extraordinary potential of the land and began a remarkable journey to create wines that reflect the unique character of the terroir.

The Family Story

In 1972, the Guiberts began planting carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon vines alongside a remarkable collection of traditional and lesser-known grape varieties. Their first wine was produced in 1978 with the guidance of renowned oenologist Émile Peynaud. The wines soon gained international recognition, establishing Mas de Daumas Gassac as one of the most respected estates of the Languedoc.

Philosophy

The Guibert family's approach is based on respect for nature, biodiversity, authenticity, and minimal intervention. Their vineyards are cultivated with the aim of preserving the natural character of the land, while a diverse selection of grape varieties allows each wine to express the complexity of its terroir.
