Giffard Crème de Banane
Wild bananas are not edible, as they contain a large number of seeds and very little pulp. It was only through domestication, between 5,000 and 10,000 years ago, that this fruit became edible as we know it today. The global banana market is vast, with no less than 130 million tonnes produced each year. The main producing countries are India, China, the Philippines, Brazil, and Ecuador.
Bananas are consumed either as a fruit or as a vegetable (plantain), depending on the region of the world. They are not juicy fruits, but they can be mashed into a purée and blended into drinks. With its sweet, intense and characteristic banana notes, Giffard Banana Liqueur reveals the full aroma of the fruit and brings a rich banana expression to cocktails.
