La Hechicera rum beautifully matured in the rich history of white oak casks that were filled to the brim with the finest muscat wine. Twelve years into his rum venture, Miguel Riascos Sr. filled sixteen barrels of rum with his favourite wine to see what would happen. He then forgot all about it.Another twelve years later his son Miguel Riascos Jr. came upon the barrels to discover they harboured spectacular wine bursting with notes of walnut, prunes and leather after maturing in the relentless heat of Barranquilla. He then emptied the barrels, filled them with rum and let it age to create this delectable finish.
